What are we waiting for?

We all find ourselves in situations where we are waiting for something to happen, waiting for someone to do something for us, waiting for our lives to change for the better, waiting for “the right time”, waiting until later, waiting until we are older, waiting until tomorrow, just simply waiting. Why are we waiting? Are we waiting for tomorrow??? Tomorrow will probably not be different. We are waiting for absolutely no reason. You can not simply wait for something to happen or wait for the perfect time to do something you must simply just do it. Take a risk, take a chance, stop waiting. Waiting is an excuse for not doing something you really need to do or want to do. It is a way to make yourself feel better about not having the guts or the courage to just do the thing you want or need to do.

I was making excuses for years about why I wasn’t doing things. I was waiting for a better time or a better opportunity or for my life to magically fall into place the way I wanted it to. I do believe in fate, I have said this before, so I agree that I had to wait. I had to wait and be miserable in order to realize that waiting is stupid. I had to wait so that I was in the right place at the right time and so that I could gain the confidence I needed to stop waiting. Once I stopped waiting and started doing the things I wanted to do everything came together. I feel like I am living in a dream. Everything is almost exactly the way I want it to be, and if it isn’t it will be soon because I am not going to wait anymore. I have control of my life and I am plan to stay in control.

I realize we have to wait for some things, like our birthdays and Christmas(I am really impatient when it comes to this), for the work day to end, or for the package we ordered in the mail to be delivered, but we don’t have to wait to be who we are and to follow our hearts. The truth is if we stop waiting and take the risk at least we will know what our destiny is. If you want something badly enough you will find a way to achieve it, so go for it. The world would be a better place if we all stopped waiting for happiness and made our own happiness. Don’t wait for success, allow yourself to become successful.

  1. I can relate to this life wise. Last May I quit my job and left Upstate NY to move in with my boyfriend in Texas. I had no plans, no perfect moments but like you said just took a risk. I will never regret that decision. Great post!
