Tomorrow I will finally be able to officially begin using my believe journal and I can not wait. I truly think that using this journal to record my runs will help me achieve my running goals as well as other personal goals that I am setting for myself. It will remind me to believe in myself whenever I have doubts. I also decided, randomly in the shower today, that I should record things that I am grateful for and positive, day to day experiences that I have. Every day has good in it and often times the good things are over looked by stress, negativity, anxiety, and worriment about things that we can not control. I have made a conscious effort to be more positive and optimistic about things but I believe that I can view the world in an even more positive way than I am currently viewing the world. I know that there are times that everyone struggles to make the best of less than perfect situations, myself included. I want to improve myself so that I can set a positive example for the people in my life, and the few dedicated readers that I have. Along with my believe journal I am going to keep a gratitude journal and record things I am thankful for and positive things that happen in my life each day, even on the most horrific days. I plan to recap these things as well as my progress with my running and goals periodically on my blog. I don’t think an actual gratitude journal exists so I tore pages out of the notebook I used to make to do lists when I was planning my wedding and going to grad school the first time because lets be honest I don’t need that notebook anymore–everything is obviously checked off. It also had a lot of pages and why waste the blank ones? I tore the pages out and BAM, I have a gratitude journal. I’m clever, I know.
