I cannot believe that we are 7 weeks into 2015 already, BUT…..that means spring is getting closer!! For me, the last 2 weeks have been full of ups and downs and in between moments. We all have our moments and our meltdowns and those days when things just don’t quite seem to be going our way or making sense and I feel like every single day the past 2 weeks has been one of those days for me, but the good news is that I am actually in a really good mood. I have really been able to open my eyes and see the bigger picture. I have been looking in all the wrong places for the things I want. My approach to things the last few weeks has been very matter of fact. By this I mean I was looking for logical answers and I was trying to do things in a traditional way. This is not at all how my life is. So, now I have decided to adopt the “go big or go home” attitude. I’m not doing anything drastically crazy, well maybe a little bit, but I am looking at the big picture and I seriously only care about the big picture. I actually had this conversation with someone the other day….if it won’t matter in 10 years it shouldn’t matter now. It seems simple because it is! I know what I will be doing in 10 years and I am willing to do anything to achieve it, anything that is legally and morally acceptable. I know this is all very vague but some things are not meant for the internet, some things are meant to be kept to yourself, plus I believe in the power of jinxing good things before they happen. Let’s just say I have been taking some chances, chasing some dreams, looking ahead, and seeing just how full of possibilities the world really is.
Running has been going okay. Today I did a 9 mile long run on the treadmill and refueled mid run with thin mints! I just can’t wait until its warm.
I found out that nuts trigger my migraines so I can’t eat peanut butter anymore. I am sad but I will gladly trade peanut butter for never puking non stop for hours or days or weeks again. *Knock on wood* not eating nuts is helping so far.
I am still keeping a gratitude journal. Here are some things I have been grateful for the last 2 weeks:
-Coffee & the coupons I used to buy coffee creamer that tasted like thin mints and snickerdoodles
-Watching Lizzie Maguire on youtube
-My laundry not being terribly out of control, only a little out of control
-Running
-Going to bed before 1 am
-Making decisions that are best for me
-One of my classes ending
-My back cat sweater
-Kittens ❤
-The Dark Side of the Moon cake Phil gets me every year for Valentines day (best chocolate cake ever)
-Visits from my favorite people
-Yoga!
-Finding time to clean my kitchen
-Walking to dinner Saturday night in the snow then watching the snow fall as we ate dinner. What a perfect moment. It felt like we were in a snow globe. Too bad it was a white valentines day and not a white christmas though
-Being done my work for grad school before 7pm Sunday night
-Thin mints
-Getting a B+ on a paper I know I didn’t put my best effort into
Loved yoga too!!!!

I will watch Lizzie any time with you. It seriously feels like the further we get into 2015, the colder it gets….I’m over it.

I love your gratitude post :). Definitely some good reminders in there. I miss watching Lizzie McGuire, wish the Disney shows were still that good- they had quite a few fun ones in the early-2000s.
Hooray for a 9 mile run and tasty coffee creamers.

How is the Snickerdoodle creamer? I have been eying that stuff for months! I like that you make a list of things you’re grateful for – I should do that more often. Luckily, we have some overlap, as I am eternally grateful for coffee, yoga, cats, running, and YouTube too. 🙂 I know the grad school grind can be pretty awful, but hang in there! You will feel so wonderful when it’s all over. (And then you might actually miss it.)
