When things just don’t go as planned

 

  1. Remember that things happen for the most peculiar reasons. It sounds silly but the reason will eventually reveal itself and then you will understand, even if you are absolutely miserable until this happens.
  2. Even if you don’t believe it, there is always someone there to help you or to listen. Let them.
  3. Yes, there will always be someone there to listen BUT there will always be people who will make things worse. Figure out who you can count on.
  4. Have gratitude for the small things that bring you joy. Each day has at least one good thing, you just have to look for it.
  5. No matter what, do not compare yourself to anyone else. Under no circumstances should you have moments where you think you are less than another person because X, Y, and Z are going great in their life. The grass may seem like it is greener but it is probably polluted with fertilizer.
  6. Remember that everyone fails sometimes, everyone struggles sometimes, and no one is perfect. Whenever I try to achieve perfection in my own life it normally turns into a disastrophe (disaster + catastrophe).
  7. Own your mistakes and your shortcomings. These experiences are nothing to be ashamed of and they always have a lesson attached. Use that lesson in the future. Share it with others. Honestly sharing your personal experiences can have a profound impact not only on those you share them with, but on you too.
  8. Take some time to yourself. Reflect.
  9. Evaluate your goals. Make sure they are realistic, if they aren’t adjust them. Having goals is wonderful but setting unattainable goals is not a good idea.
  10. Create a new plan.

  1. This is kind of how I feel this morning. I had a lot I needed to accomplish but migraines knock you out and not much you can do. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow!
