Reality of Misconception

You see what you perceive and nothing more

You see what you want to see, even if you are not sure

You assume, you confuse, you mistake

Despite knowing reality is at stake

You see what you perceive and nothing more

The truth is in plain sight, unseen without a fight

To see it all you must understand

All that is happening

Not only the vantage point from where your eyes land

Avoidance makes for circumstances unseen

Your perception, then, remains pristine

Look around

Understand

See all that can be found

Demand

You will miss the truth

Not everyone is a skilled sleuth

You see what you perceive and nothing more

Until one day the reality of misconception knocks you on the floor

And then, they see what they want to see and nothing more
